Ask for help

What’s the most profound piece of advice you’ve been given? Did you take it?

The most profound piece of advice I’ve ever been given is: “Don’t be afraid to ask for help, especially when you have good people around you.”
For a long time, I thought asking for help meant I wasn’t strong enough or capable enough. As a wife, homeschooling mom, homesteader, and someone trying to build a business, I often felt like I needed to do everything myself.
Over time, I learned that asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a sign of wisdom. Some of my biggest breakthroughs came when I reached out to family, friends, mentors, or my community. Whether it was getting support with homeschooling, learning a new skill, or simply having someone listen, those moments reminded me that we weren’t meant to carry every burden alone.
Did I take the advice? Eventually, yes. And life became a lot less overwhelming when I did. I still value independence, but I’ve learned that good company can make difficult seasons easier and joyful seasons even better.
Sometimes the strongest thing we can do is admit we don’t have all the answers and allow others to walk alongside us.
That feels very authentic to your homestead and homeschooling journey. ❤️
