What’s a moment you wish you could freeze and live in forever?
The moment I wish I could freeze forever is the last day I saw my great-grandmother healthy.
She wasn’t just my great-grandmother—she was my best friend. She shaped so much of who I am today… the way I live, the way I love my family, why I homeschool, why I teach, why I pour into others. She was everything to me.
Watching her grow older and slowly fade was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to go through. She was always so active, so full of life… and when she reached the point where she couldn’t do much anymore, I knew deep down it was only a matter of time.
About a year before she passed, I got to hold her hand, hug her, and talk with her one more time in person. I didn’t realize then that it would be the last time I’d truly have her like that.
The last conversation we had was just two days before she passed—and it was the shortest one we ever had, because she could barely speak.
That’s what stays with me… how quickly time can change everything.
If I could go back, I’d stay in that moment a year before she passed. I’d hold her a little longer, listen a little closer, and never let go so quickly.
Because moments like that… you don’t realize they’re everything until they’re gone
